- John grew up in the industry working for his father, who was a steel business owner himself. John is one of the founders of the company. John is responsible for the day-to-day operations including shop detail drawings, scheduling and project management. He is AWS Welding certified.

- Lee G. Courtney, Treasurer
- John's brother Lee also grew up in the business. Lee is one of the founders of the company. Lee is responsible for managing all field operations including jobsite conflict resolutions, project management and quality control. Lee has certifications in AWS Welding, OSHA 10, CPR AED First Aid, and Forklift/Boomlift.

- Jan P. Grimm, Vice-President
- Jan has worked in the steel industry 34 years and is one of the founders of the company. Jan is responsible for estimating, job bids and coordination of contracts between general contractors and Approved Equal.

- Louis A. Frongello, B.S.B.A., Administration and Finance
- Louie holds a business degree from Cal State Long Beach with a major in Accounting. He has been with the company since July 2010. Louie is responsible for the administrative and finance operations of the company including all accounting functions, HR, payroll, insurance certifications, monitoring job costs, tracking bids/jobs, employee relations, development and implementation of the Safety & Loss Control Plan, HazCom Manual, Safety Training Program and Employee Manual.

- Harvey R. Daniels, Lead Field Welder
- Harvey grew up in business and has over 40 years of steel fabrication and erection experience. Harvey has been with Approved Equal since its' inception in 1995. Harvey is responsible for the field work and is the field supervisor on all installation projects. Harvey has certifications in AWS Welding, OSHA 10, CPR AED First Aid, and Forklift/Boomlift. Typical projects include:
- Monopole hand hole installation (over 50 sites).
- Monopole base plate stiffener installation (over 50 sites).
- Steel equipment platforms mounted on roof tops (over 100 sites).
- Self supporting lattice towers.
- Multi-Story structural steel building framing.
- Water treatment plants

- Darryl C. Cooper, Lead Shop Welder
- Darryl has 33 years of steel fabrication experience and has been employed with Approved Equal since its' inception in 1995. Darryl is responsible for layout and shop fabrication. Darryl's expertise in layout and fabrication is rarely matched in the industry, which makes him one of the most valued member of our team.
